Saturday Night at the Movies: Feb 21st at 7 pm. “Shakespeare in Love” With Valentines Day approaching, a romantic comedy is coming to Dunvegan. “History's greatest playwright is young, out of ideas and short of cash, but meets his ideal woman and is inspired to write one of his most famous plays.” Bring your comfy cushion and favorite snacks, beverages. We will supply popcorn and cookies. No charge but donations to support DRA programs are always welcome.

Carnival Breakfast Our amazing Carnival Breakfast is still one of the best ways to start carnival day, especially a Valentine’s Day one. In addition to fluffy pancakes drenched in real maple syrup, the menu features scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, baked beans, muffins and a host of appropriate hot and cold beverages. The breakfast will be held at the DRA Hall, 19053 County Road 24 from 8:00 AM until 10 AM. The cost is $13.00 for adults and $6.00 for children five to twelve. Kids under five are free.

The outdoor component of the Dunvegan Winter Carnival has always been about old-fashioned outdoor fun. Don’t forget to bring your kids’ toboggans, sleds, snow gliders and skates. There is a sliding hill, pond for ice skating , crokicurl, and a roaring ourdoor fire to warm up. Terry and James will once again open up their home to cold and hungry carnival goers. They will generously provide complementary mugs of hot chocolate, piping hot bowls of hearty soup and of course Terry’s home- baked butter rolls and jam. There’s no admission. All activities are free! Everyone is welcome!

Sleigh Rides This Valentine’s Day, take your loved ones for an old-fashioned sleigh ride in a backwoods winter wonderland, weather permitting. The cost is right: absolutely free, and the rides are available from around 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, on a first-come, first-served basis. What address do you put into Google Maps for these sleigh rides? 19314 County Road 24, Dunvegan. Which, incidentally, is also where the rest of the outdoor winter carnival events are being held. Come for the sleigh rides… stay for the fun!
